Code in Both ICD-9 and ICD-10?

Early last week, CMS and the American Medical Association announced an agreement to allow some flexibility in the first 12 months after ICD-10 implementation. The flexibility has to do with not rejecting certain ICD-10 codes, solely on the basis that they could have been more specific.


Then, later in the week, two members of Congress introduced a bill to allow for both ICD-9 and ICD-10 use during the first six months after October 1, 2015. What do you think of all this? Read the articles from the MedPage Today website and from the ICD-10 Monitor site:
