In a December 7, 2016 blog post on the AAPC website, AAPC Product Marketing Manager Alex McKinley introduced the concept of “5 Traits of a Rockstar Medical Coder”. The post included an infographic that explains the 5 traits:

• Knowledgeable

• Analytical

• Critical thinker

• Detail oriented

• Organized

That was a great way to capture the 5 areas of skills that all good coders have and continuously improve upon, and those qualities are still applicable today. We’ll have more to say about honing your skills for each of the traits, but for now, download the PDF of the infographic below:
