Tom Sullivan, in his article posted on the Healthcare IT News website, reports that a dozen or so members of Congress wrote a letter to the Acting Director of CMS, urging him to create a contingency plan in case CMS can’t process ICD-10 codes starting on October 1.
There is also an interesting suggestion to consider accepting “less granular codes” for a transition period while folks get used to the new code system.
